Monsterjam Freestyle Show Milwaukee, WI

Thursday/Friday Janurary 14/15 was consumed with a 12 hour drive, practice, 2 hour fan pit party, full show and zero sleep!  Despite the lack of rest it was a great set of shows, with about 10,000 fans on Saturday night!  Again, the surface presented challenges, being more soft clay than dirt.  I switched to a rain tire in front and gained considerable traction, enough to grab stoppies in the clay!  This was my first show utilizing my new Scorpion gear, and it felt like I had been wearing it all my life.  Good stuff for sure!  Overall it was fun times as usual.  Next stop is Raleigh, NC.

Monsterjam Freestyle Mania Columbus, OH

Columbus Ohio was the kick off show for the 2010 Monsterjam Freestyle Mania tour.
The week started out with some bad luck with my tow vehicle breaking down halfway to Columbus.  I ended up towing the vehicle to a friend’s home nearby, renting a truck to finish the trip, flying home to Atlanta from the show, then driving back to retrieve my vehicle.  Not much sleep involved!  Regardless, the shows were a success!
Alongside fellow riders Joe Dryden and Josh Borne, I gave my 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 it’s first taste of freestyle on the dirt!  In spite of the less than favorable riding surface, the shows went great!  The crowd response was incredible and I am looking forward to exciting season!

Red Bull Show at Barber Motorsports Park

Sunday, October 11 2009 I performed a freestyle show for Red Bull with Aaron Colton at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama. This weekend was the Barber Vintage Festival. I was honored to perform at one of the nicest tracks in the world!

The show went very well. The track conditions were perfect, and the crowd response was great. Most impressive was the fact that Aaron Colton was performing on a freshly broken leg!

Stuntwars Stuntoberfest

Stuntwars Stuntoberfest is a yearly competition held in Lakeland, Florida. This year saw the competition returning to the Lakeland Dragstrip. This was unfortunate because the slick track conditions make many of my tricks very difficult. Never-the-less I managed to qualify in 1st place on Saturday with a safety run. However, Sunday the track conditions worsened and I dropped to 8th place, mostly do to a costly crash during my run. Although I had a disapointing final run, I placed 3rd in the sickest trick competition and 1st place in the fastest circle competition.

September 19-20 2009 - Gearfest Competition, Tampa FL

This weekend I traveled to Tampa, FL to compete in the first annual Gearfest Freestyle Competition.  Unfortunately I missed the first day of the competition qualifying rounds due to severe illness.  I competed the second day in a state of near delerium.  Somehow I was able to pull out a 4th place finish in the finals.

August 2009 - New Trick

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

I have finally completed a trick many years in the making!  Another first in the discipline of acrobatics, I have combined a back flip with a circle wheelie.  The diffuculty level of this trick is quite high, therefore the success rate is still low.  By my standard a trick is not complete until it has been demonstrated in competition format.  I unveilded this new trick during the Sickest Trick competition at the 2009 XDL Freestyle Finals, in Indianapolis IN.  Although, I did not win, I successfully completed the trick in competition.

August 28-29 2009 - XDL Finals, Indianapolis IN

This weekend I traveled to Indianapolis, IN for the XDL Freestyle Finals.  This was the biggest competition in the US all year and all the best riders from the US were in attendance.  I competed in three events:  individual freestyle, circle challenge, and sickest trick.  I spent the weeks prior training diligently, and I had invented a new trick just for the sickest trick competition.

I won the circle competition, qualified 6th for the finals, and successfully executed my new trick in the sickest trick competition.

July 24-25 2009 - Monsterjam Freestyle Show

This weekend I traveled to Mobile, Alabama to perform freestyle shows for the Monsterjam monster truck shows.  I have done many similar shows, but this one in particular was unique due to the fact that I was riding on dirt!  I knew traction was going to be a challenge so I took a chance on an odd tire selection:  an all terrain from a dual sport.  My gamble paid off and I was able to gain traction on wheelies on the dirt surface.
